The House has only been in session for five weeks and already Aspen progressive Adam Frisch is announcing he will again challenge Lauren Boebert for the 3rd Congressional District seat in 2024.

The Colorado media are hoping all eyes will be on them as they cover what some are proclaiming will be the most watched congressional election of the season.

By Democrats, maybe …

And that’s presuming Boebert won’t face a Republican primary runoff.

Republicans will be laser focused on the, uhm, (checks notes) presidential race.

Boebert, meanwhile, has been expecting Frisch and started campaigning on a potential rematch in a Jan. 22 fundraising missive.

“Here’s the thing… I won my last race by a razor-thin margin,” Boebert wrote in a campaign email. “As you can imagine, left-wingers are going to rally around him big time after they came so close this past election. We need your help now to fight back.”

Boebert already has the fundraising edge with more than $770,000 cash on hand, while Frisch held back on spending and had $365,000 left over from his campaign. That has to hurt — leaving all that money in the bank and losing by less than 600 votes.

The Denver Post practically gushes that Boebert is certain to be even more divisive and confrontational than ever, and pushes predicts Democrats will pour a ton of money into Frisch’s campaign.

Meanwhile, The Colorado Sun acknowledges Frisch is not a sure thing, and will likely face opposition from a Democrat field of candidates.

Frisch’s video announcement notes his campaign performed better than Biden’s in 2020, which just seems like a sad bragging point today.

It also features former Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki bragging on his close loss, also sad.

Boebert has yet to acknowledge Frisch’s video announcement Tuesday that he’s formally announcing Wednesday in Pueblo.

We expect she’s busy amassing a huge campaign war chest.
