Securing transgender safe spaces now outranks protecting the habitat of the prairie chicken, grouse, and grey wolves by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where wokeness is running amok among the top ranks of the agency.
An explosive new report by The Washington Times reveals that while the agency is begging for more money to protect wildlife and habitat, precious resources are being diverted for radical training and paid time off to be progressive activists.
And who’s getting paid to help with the training? A group of Democrat donors from Oregon.
In addition to getting paid to attend events held by diversity organizations and gay rights groups, employees are also undergoing “eco-grief” training to help them cope with the trauma of global warming.

One agency official, who spoke to The Times on the condition of anonymity, said any money spent on the diversity and equity agenda is money not spent on wildlife.
“We have field leaders begging every day for resources to complete our mission. Their pleas are met with diminishing budgets to pay for mandatory radical training that excludes and divides, rather than conserves and protects,” the official said.
U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke, Montana Republican and former Interior secretary, said of the current Secretary, Deb Haaland:
“… she is pulling staff out of their offices to attend woke indoctrination at taxpayer expense,” Mr. Zinke told The Times. “I don’t care what people do on their free time, but on the taxpayer dollar, they’d better be doing the work ‘We the People’ pay them to do.”
Zinke wants to ban taxpayer funding for identity ideology training and plans to attach a measure to the Interior Department’s budget.
